How much longer do I have to wait till we can divorce?

It was almost 2 years ago that I simply broke, I couldn’t deal any more with the silent treatment, coercion, passive aggression.

Ww did Relate. We did mediation as well - but after a few sessions he said he’d not continue as it was biased in my favour. I’m a part time (school hours) self employed sahm with 2 children, one sen which has prevented me returning to work. He earns a 6 figure salary.

I earn about 1.2k pcm. I’ve spent all of that, plus a significant chunk of the only savings I have, on solicitor bills over the last 6= months. Over £10k so far 😢

How long will this go on for? 😢

He will likely have spent the same amount on solicitors. Then, we need to deduct the estate agents fees, the selling cost fees from selling the marital home. Then, we need to find two lots of stamp duty, plus funds to buy double of everything….

How is it financially possible?? We are relatively well off, but live in a very expensive part of the uk and I can’t move to anywhere cheaper - my sen child is at an amazing school and my other child is due to sit A levels next year.

How do I stop haemorrhaging money on this divorce??

Wow this sounds tough!
What do you seem to be struggling to agree on?

The split of finances. The current suggestion from my solicitor is slightly over 60:40 in my favour, so that I come out of this with enough to buy a house with a small mortgage and live off my income, dla, cm and uc. He’d have enough for a 40% deposit on a similar house and a larger mortgage, but he has such a massive salary.
