Why is it not recommended that one moves out ?

I often see it written that one of you should not move out if getting divorced. That you should hang on in the house together until you’re divorced.

Because the party who is left in the house has what they wants and they can drag their heels sorting out finances.. plus if you cannot agree on who buys who out or selling at all, the one who leaves is disadvantaged.

But you have to weigh everything up. In reality, if it is intolerable then it is better for your health to go.

I just saw a post on another thread that was advising that the OP would be able to prevent the house sale by making the house look like a dump on the estate agents photos and not letting anyone look round.

If you both still live there tang would be much harder.
