Hi all,

Just the above really - soon to be ex is already being obstructive re child arrangement and will no doubt be the same re finances (he earned almost x2 as me,in the £100s). Have spent thousands already dealing with a court application and trying to get him to a hybrid médiation. Looking for good value firms and possibly direct access barristers whom have experience of dealing with this issue. Thank you!

Where abouts do you live Sooverit?
im divorcing a narcissist, no way would mediation have worked for us.

Sooverit1001 · 04/06/2022 12:15

@winniemum - london. Would rather avoid London firms due to rates

Ah ok. I’m nowhere near I’m afraid.
But just looked up about hybrid mediation which seems to be a better idea than just mediation with a narcissist.
I’m hoping to use an arbitrator if my exH agrees.
Hope you find a good solicitor. Mine has been worth every penny so far.

@winniemum - i would be very interested to know whom you had acting for you, regardless of distance. Would you mind sending me a pm if you would rather not to discuss on the board?

Revecca Zung and Michele lee nieves both have videos about divorcing a narc.

Never use the label though. Use language such as "more forceful in his demands". "I was in the habit of acquiescing". "The goalposts kept moving after they were agreed". Ykwim?. Describe the behavior that has so far prevented agreement.

Bon courage.

Xx 💐

@TreeP0se thank you! I’m aware of these people and dr Ramani too on YouTube, and have bought books about narcissism . I just Need a lawyer whom understands what I am up against. There are child safeguarding concerns too (ss are involved)

Johnathan Nosworthy (barrister). Family mediation will not work with an abuser, however, lawyer-led mediation where both sides bring in a lawyer/judge with gravitas to negotiate works in 80-90% of cases. He is lovely and very clever, has experience of dealing with bastards as clients and so knows how to deal with them. My solicitor is Mark Hands (Irwin Mitchell) - lovely guy and a very strategic thinker. I had consultations with 3 and he was, by far, the best. With approaching him for an initial call (you’ll have to pay for his time). He’s doing all he can to save costs.

What are your specific issues and how disconnected are you?

Sooverit1001 · 15/07/2022 06:41

Hi all, thanks. Think I’ve found someone but don’t want to say it on here as it’s too outing. Issues are child arrangements and finances
