Has there been a rush of divorce applications as predicted and is that causing delays?

Just that really - has anyone heard that system has been inundated? Is it working OK or are there problems? Just thinking if I apply in June/July will I get to the 20 week/consent order (old Decree Nisi?) well before Christmas or is that optimistic (adult children, hoping finances will not be disputed).

Mine was very quick, I filed on 6/4. But it’s 26 weeks minimum, not 20.

I applied on 6th april also..husband responded yesterday and now we wait until the 1st September before we can do anything else. So started it in April and it looks like mid October will be when it finally ends

What if you have already waited the 2 years, can you file the old way?

Nope. It is 26 weeks for every one now. Including potential abuse situations where unreasonable behaviour was grounds and you could get divorced quicker. My divorce under unreasonable grounds took less than 3 months last year from petition to decree final. Couldn’t do that now. I was pretty shocked about this when I found out.
