Logistics of 50/50 childcare

If you're a divorced parent and have something like 50/50 child care, how does that work for you?
With after school clubs and changes of clothes, if both parents need some degree of flexibility, I just see a future with kids living out of suitcases.

We do week on / week off to save the kids schlepping too much stuff about - handover on a Friday night. It took some getting used to but the kids are happy and that's the most important thing. They are DS 13 and 15 so older.

Both parents buy clothes and keep these at their own houses and cover the cost of clubs etc on their time.

Used to do Sunday night to Sunday night, any commitments were the responsibility of the parent that had the child that week

@Lorry123 So do the kids have something like 1.5 sets of school uniform and football kit?

In our case, DD has clothes at each house, so no living out of a suitcase.
The only things she takes back and forth is PE kit.

My kids have two of everything, and you have to not be precious about "I bought that x why is it at your dads house" and so does he

They don't live out of suitcases, they have two homes, two bedrooms, the only thing that travels is them and school stuff

Friday to Friday. Works really well and I can now consider my ex a friend
