Anyone had to supply a statement to explain delay when applying for an Absolute? How long did it take to get your Absolute?

Hi,
I'm in a situation where there was a delay due to waiting for court hearings - it meant we went past a year to be able to apply for the Decree Absolute.
I have applied for this and have submitted a statement as required, but am wondering how much this extra step might delay actually getting the DA. Has anyone been through this?
I just want to get the whole thing finished. It's been an awful time and I want to draw a line.
Thank you.

Hi @fastgin, we're just bumping your thread in case anyone's around to answer your question.

Sorry you're going through a tough time. Flowers

I saw a friend yesterday who’s had to apply to The Court as it’s been 4 years since the Nisi was issued, and they take a view that coercion has taken place during this period prior to an Absolute being granted.
It hadn’t… just tricky finances to sort.

Anyway, application was made around 22/23 Dec and was rubber stamped and back with her before New Year.
So not long….

Thank you @JoMumsnet :) I appreciate it.

Thank you also @ByeByeMissAmericanPie - that gives me hope. Mine's been a few weeks already but hopefully it's in someone's pipeline somewhere!

I am really looking forward to draw a line and start 2022 in a better place.
