How to get ExH to behave

He's always been an arse but managed divorce without court orders etc. Better to keep it informal due to his personally type

He's really shown his true colours this week but this time towards the kids and I'm really uncomfortable about letting it go as it was nasty to witness. Emotionally damaging not physical.

Do I go straight for solicitors? Or send him formal 'threatening email' or perhaps the email but with mediation demand.

No idea how to handle it. I know I can't let it go. He will ignore it if I do.

Depends what he did

More context is needed. Sadly people are allowed to parent badly without ramifications. We had a safe guarding raised twice by school round emotional abuse but it was 'agreed' to be poor parenting. Kids eventually voted with their feet
