Legal Aid for Divorce

Hi. Has anyone applied and been successful recently for Legal Aid help?

I am being emotionally and financially abused.

I've applied for Legal Aid and waiting to hear back.

My information is from about 8 years ago but i thought there was no legal aid for the financial part of a divorce but that there was legal aid for the child residency side of it, - however, even this is very hard to obtain because you have to evidence it, and it's actually a loan, not an award, if that makes sense.

I am willing to stand corrected if my info is out of date though. Maybe someone who divorced more recently has got up to date information.

What are your main sticking points? kids or finance?

Sticking points are finances and custody/share of daughter

I’m getting legal aid for it all. But it’s different legal aid applications for each part.
There domestic abuse which I needed a letter from Womens Aid on. And low income too….
