hi,

my ex husband has said he wants to give up his parental responsibilities. I am more than happy with that.

is that possible under British law?
thanks

I don’t think there’s a mechanism for that unless your current partner wanted to adopt the child.

Hi,

dont have a partner. my ideal plan is moving back to my home country with baby and dont want in few years time his dad appearing to mess our lifes

he did offered to give the rights up (upsetting and sad) but has not been around for months

I suspect he wants to give up rights so he isn't liable for maintenance.

I really don't think it's possible though. If he agrees to you moving abroad depending on the country thereby be no reciprocal arrangement for CMS so he would no longer be liable to pay.

Worth asking for his permission to leave the UK permanently with DC in writing and asking for it to be witnessed?

It's technically possible but a judge won't do it unless there is a very good reason.
