Solicitor initial consultation. Was there anything you didn't ask that you wish you had?

Just as the title says really. I have a list of questions relative to my situation, but want to make the mostout of the free consultation and wondered if those who have done this think there is anything extra I should be aware of or asking?

I found it helpful (ie saved a lot of time and money) to have a file already with all the relevant financial information I could gather that related to the questions I had. So if your questions are about money, have gathered and know in your head everything you can about the financial situation. The better genned up you are the quicker the solicitor can sort and advise.

Thanks purple. Part of the reason im seeking advice is that ex wont let me have access to any of the financial information. So thats high on my list.

I'd ask about options to get you where you want to be (i.e. divorced with a financial settlement), time frames and costs. Ask about success rates of mediation when the other party is secretive about finances.
