Ex Husband has sold assets prior to divorce

Just wondering if anyone has experience of this - split in 2017 I was thrown out with a dependent child refuge in local area was full so was referred to homeless services for a year then social housing. He filed I responded asking for financial disclosure he withdrew divorce petition. Was not entitled to legal aid due to no police involvement and could not afford at that time to file my own petition and fight for financials.

Now the law changes mean I am more than likely entitled to legal aid (emotional/financial abuse) awaiting decision. Ex changed the locks on marital home (rented) within days of kicking us out, I’ve had no items from home - white goods electrical furniture etc - he then moved someone in within days.

Also to add he has profited and sold assets running into the thousands which will be proven in court bank by bank statements etc. He really does think that I am unable to claim legal aid so cannot divorce but I am getting everything ready to fight for anything I am entitled too.

So my question is will I be allocated a share of household items on basis I never had anything and also the assets he has sold and profited from I also know he has spent the money - if I was awarded my share what would the court do if he has spent the funds allocated to me? Hope this makes sense I am new here - married 8 years (12 if including seperation too) co habit prior to marriage 8 years - I have one child 16 in full time education thanks

How long were you together pre marriage?
Is the 16yo his?
I would doubt you would get anything tbh past cm if the child is his, and only til they leave school.

Hi OP another one here who thinks you won't get any items from the former marital home either also they must be at least 4 years old if not more by now so wouldn't be worth all that much anyway. Best your gonna get is CM are you already getting this?

No I doubt you’d get anything either.
If you had wanted any of your property back you really should’ve asked for police assistance soon after you “left” the marital home, technically it looks like you abandoned the property when you “left”.
Sorry.

OH's ex sold and spent everything prior to the divorce being finalised so she didn't have to give him anything- she was ordered to pay monthly instalments to him but she never paid a penny. She then filed for bankruptcy so the debt is now written off. Kick in the teeth for him, she never worked a day for the 20 years they were together. It's really crap, but if someone is determined they won't give you a penny, you won't get anything. OH's ex managed to syphon off over £60,000 of their savings before filing bankruptcy. After she filed for bankruptcy she bought a brand new car.
