Ex wants access to house when I'm not there

Hi all, my ex wants to access the house for a valuation but I will be at work. Do I have to allow him access? I don't really want him in there when I'm not there (he moved out a long time ago) I'm uncomfortable with this. Also Covid? Don't really want strangers in the house? Where do I stand?

I’m assuming he’s still on the mortgage, so he can come and go as he pleases.

If he’s reasonable then perhaps he might let you set the time and date.

If he moved out more than 6 months ago, he needs your permission to enter. You can't deny it for petty reasons. If you want to be there also, then suggest another time that you can do.

Do you have a friend or relative who would attend for you?

Assuming you are still married but divorcing he has a legal right to access the former matrimonial home. I assume you both want to sell the house? If you are worried could you ask that the appointment be rearranged at a date/time convenient for both of you? Also, you could book the valuations yourself and just be there on your own. From a practical point of view the house needs to be valued so I would just let him get on with it.
