Decree Nisi - financial order timeline

Looking for a bit of advice/opinion please.
Our Decree Nisi is due in court on Thursday. I cannot see any reason why it would not go though as it is quite straightforward.

We have a financial settlement/consent order being drawn up by a solicitor at the moment. Simple 50/50 money and kids - no assets. When can this be submitted? Is it right after the hearing or do we have to wait until something else happens? I suppose I mean after the hearing do I have to wait for anything else to be granted before we can get the financial order submitted? I just need this to go through URGENTLY as I am waiting to buy a house so wondering how long it is likely to take.

Submit as soon as you have the nisi. Mine took about 10 weeks and got it last week.

It’s a 15 week wait currently at Bury SE court for a financial order to be put in front of a judge x

Do all Financial orders go through Bury SE court? that is a long wait. How do you know its 15 weeks at moment

JiltedJohnsJulie · 10/05/2020 11:46

Yes definitely submit it as soon as the Nisi is granted.

@techcorp

If you ring they will tell you. However is it confusing. My nisi came though mid September and so I based my timelines on that (think was 10-12 weeks)

However at one point they then told me the timing started from when they date stamped it as received which was several weeks after it was posted due to the pile of paperwork they receive!

Ultimately I received it very start of December i think it was so inline with the original timings I was given.

It was very stressful not helped by my ex who was desperate for the cash having a go at me because he thought I was delaying it and lying to him because of the change in date estimations!

That's shocking toomany. It should have been stamped on the day it was received. I would be questioning why it wasn't and possibly putting in a complaint.

To be honest I lost the will to live after so many conversations with different timings.
