I am a doctoral researcher at the University of Birmingham running a research project working with young people, aged 11 to 18, who have separated parents who spend time with both of their parents.
The research specifically looks at their experiences of travelling and transitioning between their parents houses, or travelling to spend time with them elsewhere. Very little research has been conducted on this issue previously and the project aims to provide insights to be shared with organisations supporting separated families.
Participation will include taking part in two interviews, as well as the potential for other activities including drawing, mapping, photography, videoing and diary writing. The research will be done in person at a location convenient for the participant and the researcher will travel to anywhere within the UK. Parents will also be invited to take part in an interview.
