Not being able to stay in joint rental property

I live in London. Me and husband rent together. I just notice landlord we are going through divorce and he said unfortunately I can’t stay in property alone with child claiming DSS. What’s next? I can’t seem to find any properties that offer accommodation for DSSSad

I think the reason for that is a lot of mortgage lenders don't allow it.

Talk to the council about housing association property?
Maybe consider moving to a cheaper area?

Another vote for contacting the council.

However - how would your landlord actually know how you find the rental bill? Being that benefits are paid to you not him.

This is my situation, my rent is funded by benefits but as I had a FT job when I first took out my tenancy I haven't mentioned it to the landlord. All that should matter is you can afford it.

Firstly I would ask why you can't stay with dss. Is it because the mortgage lender won't allow it like above?
Or is it simply because he thinks you can afford it? If this is the case you could see if you could get a guarantor he would accept that or if you've got savings give that upfront.
Something to think about

The reason is me working part time only. They could discuss it with landlord (I’m with agency) if I would have a guarantor. But I don’t Sad
