How long after filing divorce for decree Nisi date?

I applied online for a divorce and my Husband has responded. It's been 6 weeks since I did the next stage online for the decree nisi, but I still don't have a court date. I just wondered how long have others have had to wait for the court date

Mine was 5 months

Andyjakeydan · 09/09/2019 17:44

Just over 8 months to get the nisi

honeycombcheesecake · 09/09/2019 19:29

Thanks I didn't think it would be as long as that.

I got mine two weeks ago after starting proceedings in december

You can contact your court by email to get their time scales they Have massive delays!
I filed in April and mine was heard in August I can’t however move forward because now consent order needs to go in which can’t happen until nisi and they are approx 3 months behind from receipt

Toomanycats99 · 11/09/2019 06:04

Mine is due next week - originally filed in about April I think. That's bury st Edmunds .

Toomanycats99 · 11/09/2019 06:08

@Itsallchange

Exactly the same here!

My consent order cannot go in until after the nisi next week and could take 3 months.

I am buying my ex out and is is getting more and more desperate for the money and blaming me for giving him wrong information on timescales. Since he left everything to me and in fact took him 3 months longer than he said to do his form e I am not best pleased!

Not like I have been through it before.

Doormat247 · 11/09/2019 06:13

Mine took 4 months and the court wasn't busy compared to most (filed it online and they chose the quickest court line - apparently Doncaster is consistently one of the slowest (which I would have expected them to send it to being closest but they sent to Southampton).

Just checked the email system, bury st Edmunds is approximately a month behind on aos and decree nisi applications and for consent orders they are working on the end of May 😔 I guess if it’s accepted first time then all goes through quite quickly after that?? Mine is still at draft stage and hasn’t been to STBEH yet, we’ve agreed a mesher order but he keeps threatening to change his mind so goodness knows what may happen

Toomanycats99 · 11/09/2019 06:44

@Itsallchange
End of May for consent orders. aargh

Mine will be going in next week. I need to arrange my mortgage which I was going to do in 2 weeks based on a 3 month validity period.

But if they still at end of May that's looking like 4 months.

Am just worried about what will happen to rates etc with brexit.

historysock · 11/09/2019 06:44

It took 6 mi this for nici, another 5 for absolute and then a further 4 for them to finally sign off on the finance order.

historysock · 11/09/2019 06:45

Mine was also at Bury St Ed's...

Itsallchange · 11/09/2019 07:39

@Toomanycats99 it’s so frustrating isn’t it! Maybe have a chat with your mortgage advisor xx

Toomanycats99 · 11/09/2019 07:43

@Itsallchange

Agreed so frustrating. I have been through everything with her but don't want to waste time applying if it will time out - I guess I could maybe ask her to look for 6 month validity ones only but don't want to end up paying more.

What frustrates me is that I had 99% completed my form e at Xmas. Ex didn't do his until I really started pressing in late March (despite having agreed to do it at Xmas) and now he's blaming me for the delay! I had to redo half of mine because it has become outdated!
