Filing and and fee waiver for benefits

Hi all, I am filing for divorce at the moment and I need some advice about getting the fee waived.

As far as I can see I can get a fee exemption due to the benefits I am on, but it also says on the website that when I submit the application (online or on paper) that I will have to pay the fee, so it's not clear how I go about getting it waived. I can't afford to pay it upfront.

Does anyone have any advice on how I get the fee waived?

The solicitor sorted it out for me. I had to take in evidence of benefits

OK. Is it possible to sort it out doing it the DIY way or do I need a solicitor to get the fee waived?

So as not to drip feed, we are very amicable about everything including shared custody. All our assets are agreed already and there is absolutely no animosity between us.

I'm not sure actually. I can't remember why I went through a solicitor as there were no assets to share or anything!

After doing a bit of research this afternoon it is so much easier to go through a solicitor!!

I have applied for help with fees but have done it through a solicitor, I called the court today to check on the application and they advised if they decline the application then someone will contact me or the solicitor for payment. Could you call your local divorce centre for advice?
