Court fees and getting STBEX to pay for them

STBEX and I have been separated for a year now, he had said in January that he would be proceeding with the divorce.
I haven't heard anything about it since and now I'm fed up of him dragging his heels. Out of principle I think he should be the one to pay the divorce, as it is more what he wants, but left to his own devices he could drag this out and I just want a fresh start now.

Has anyone been able to get their ex to pay the court fees, I think you tick a box on the application if that's what you want.

You can try but usually you have to pay your own fee's. I have got a court order on my ex to pay some of the divorce fees he offered to pay half the original fee £250 but he's got to pay £1500 it's not much when you think my solicitor bill is currently 10K and rising.

Courts have changed and will not put all fees to one person simply because of people who think like you.

It's simply not fair.

If you want to claim then you pay your own fees

Agree. It doesn’t matter if he’s the one who wants a divorce. Punishing him to pay his and your feels simply isn’t fair. You should pay your own fees.
