Counselling for my son - recommendations

Hi, I have recently separated, and my son is not handling it well. He is 5 and acting out a lot, probably confused and worried as expected. There is animosity between us as parents, but we do not let that show in front of son. We share custody. Anyone got any recommendations for routes to explore/contacts for a counsellor or service? Live in Lanarkshire/Scotland. Thanks

Don't know of anything local to you, but play therapy seems to be beneficial for younger children. Ask at school if they have any contacts.

My DD7 has drawing therapy at school to try and help her with her anger - not sure how much it helps as she often tells me that she doesn't like to tell Mrs X about her worries cos she doesn't want to upset her :-/ DS12 had counselling through school in year 5/6 after the separation to help him work through his anger/upset etc and it really, really helped him and he's much more settled. Definitely ask at school as they may have provisions for this. Good luck x
