Hi everyone
I hope everyone is ok ..I know how stressful things can be. My decree nisi has been granted and I dont know what to do next. I'm trying to only see my solicitor when I have too and when i spoke to my stbx solicitor she said she would get back in touch when it was granted. Could someone advise what happens now? I'm still in the marital home with DS who's 12 and husband is paying the mortgage.
I was given bad advice but my first solicitor and my stbx started the divorce filling out some hurtful untruths in the box that i can prove arent true but I'm just a bit lost at the moment. Thanks x

The untruths don't matter as only you both, your solicitors and the courts will see them.

The courts aren't interested in them as long as long as you have a good legal reason for divorce.

Once it comes to separating finances again the untruths aren't considered unless the lies are about money.

Child arrangements are separate from the divorce process as parents who have never been married but are separated use the same processes as well. This means the untruths unless they are repeated aren't relevant. If they are repeated unless they impact the best interests of the child they aren't relevant plus can easily be seen through by judges.

Now one of you needs to draw up a consent order and the other needs to agree it. Then it goes before a judge to approve it. If you can't agree then to have to go to a financial hearing. As you have a 12 year old it's best to save money and agree without one using your solicitors.
