Hi all, why do i have two identical certificates but with different numbers, is one mine the other my husbands?

Do i send both certificates with the divorce petition form D8?

Were you married in the Uk? It’s wise to get these kind of discrepancies sorted out before you start proceedings. If they have exactly the same details on them it should be ok though.

married England. We just put them away and didn’t question it. the number is the one on the top right of certificates it’s printed not hand written like most of the certificate

Do you mean the number in the top right corner? Every certified copy of your marriage entry in the register is uniquely numbered, registrars have to account for every certificate they write.

The entry number (second column after date) should be the same on both certificates and is related to the physical entry in the register that you signed during your ceremony.

X-post. Each certificate must have a different number in the top right hand corner, it is 100% correct.
