Can you book a court date for finances before nisi comes through?

I have applied for the Decree Nisi but wondered if I could set a court date for the financial settlement and pension sharing stuff before it comes through.

If not, how long does it take for a court date to come through afte you've applied?

Yes you can issue form A any time after the Petition is issued.

Time varies on court. The first hearing is supposed to be not more than 16 weeks after the date of issue, (and not less than 12 weeks) but the state the courts are in it's often longer. I've got an FDA in Kingston mid November where the form A went in mid June, I think. Croydon is even worse.

Thanks MrsB

If we are in agreement and it's just a case of a judge signing it off do we still need a range of meetings?

No! If you have a deal you just need to submit a consent order (that can't go in until DN is set)

Get a solicitor to draw up the paperwork.

His solicitor is drawing up the paperwork and I guess then I will review with mine.
