Separated - could non-UK ex abroad have a claim on house I'm buying?

Married abroad in non-EU country less than two years ago. He's never come to the UK, and we've never actually lived together long term.

I want a divorce and looks like I'll have to file in the UK - (him filing for divorce in his country would be super quick and easy). I'm currently buying a house - deposit from my savings and obviously only me and DS will be living there and paying mortgage. We've never shared finances beyond me staying in his family home in his country.

My question is, is there any chance he could make a claim on my own home? I seriously doubt he has the means or knowledge to do so, and stuff is pretty amicable but I guess its good to be paranoid.

Yes he can, anything you own when married could be split if he asks for a %.
