Changing my name back - but don't have my marriage certificate anymore

I can't WAIT to go back to my maiden name Grin

Trusty(ish) Google tells me you need your decree absolute and marriage certificate. But I didn't get this back after I sent it to the divorce courts. You don't anyway, do you?

Can I revert back without it? It feels like an unecessary faff to change it by Deed Poll (and you have to pay don't you?).

You can go back to your maiden name without proof as it is the name you were born with you need birth certificate and marriage certificate

I used my decree absolute for everything when I changed my name back.

Most places will accept your decree absolute and birth certificate as proof of going back to your maiden name but if you need a copy of the marriage certificate for anything else you can get it for £10 from the registration district you got married in.

You can buy them. I bought one from about 1860 the other week for an ancestor.

I changed my name via deed poll as soon as we separated for about £20. I never had a copy of the marriage certificate, exh had that. When I got my decree absolute I have used that for everything since but wanted to change my bank cards etc quickly without waiting for long divorce hence deed poll.

I just used deed poll the money was very well spent to get rid of that name!
