Hi Parents,
My names Amy and I’m a postgraduate social research student at the University of Birmingham undertaking research for a master's dissertation. I'm interested in how children who have shared-parenting arrangement make and experience home in two places.
I am looking for participants around Birmingham between the ages of 9-16, who live between their two parent's homes, even if this is only for a few days a month. There are two ways that children may participate:
•Option 1: Children will give me a guided house tour, where I will ask them to focus on what things are important to them, and what things they do, in their house that makes them feel at home. This will be followed by a short interview to discuss topics that have arisen during the course of the tour in more detail. This will be conducted in both of their houses.
•Option 2: Children will be given a camera to take photos of the things that are important to them, and the things they do, in both their houses that make them feel at home. I will then arrange an interview with the child, to be conducted at one of their homes, using the images as prompts for discussion.
The project has been approved by the University ethics committee, and all data will treated as private and confidential and all information anonymised. I also have a DBS check.
If you would like more information or are interested in participating please email me at; [email protected]
Thanks for your time,
Best wishes,
Amy
