Divorce without financial settlement and child arrangement?

BubblesPip · 28/11/2017 10:34

Is this possible?
I want the most simple divorce and don’t think the exh would fight for anything. He’s not allowed unsupervised contact.
Does there have to be a financial settlement and child contact arrangement in place in order to divorce?

It is in your interests to get a financial order because recent case law shows that a party can come back years later to make a claim!

allthebestnamesareused is right.
Come to a financial settlement as it come back on you in years to come

It is technically possibly but legally unwise.

Thanks for your advice, arghhh! what about the child contact side of things?
I’m just wanting to escape a very abusive person as quickly as possible.

As far as i know you don't need to have a child contact order in place

Lonecatwithkitten · 28/11/2017 16:14

If there are children you will need to submit some form of child arrangement order just to show they have been thought about. It is not the same as s contact order and can be changed without going to court.

Are you in Dngland/Wales OP?

MrsBertBibby · 28/11/2017 19:23

England. FFS, tablet.

Absolutely possible
I have just done it.

We are very amicable and there was no need for child arrangements to be legally formalised
