Newly separated - what to tell a 4yr old!

Hi everyone, just after a bit of advice!

To cut a long story short!
My husband came home early from work unexpectedly last week and announced he’d been sending & receiving pictures with someone at work for around 4 months. They had also kissed.

I asked him to leave immediately and he’s since moved in with his parents. I’m in a bit of a limbo now deciding whether to try and fix our marriage (he’s been suffering with depression and anxiety and blames his actions mainly on that and saying it will never happen again - am I crazy to believe him???).

We have a 4 yr old daughter and I don’t know what to say to her to help her understand the situation? Anyone get an experience/hints/tips that I can try to make this as easy for her as possible!?

Does your husband want to fix the marriage?

Until you have decided where your relationship is going from here I wouldn’t tell your 4year old anything. Is he still seeing him?

Yes he wants to fix it, I’m not sure!

Yes he’s still seeing her. I’m determined that no matter what they will still have a relationship.

I think at 4 simple things like daddy is at work, staying with Granny at the moment etc will be fine. They don’t need to know the wider picture until you have decided why that is.

Anxiety and depression have nothing to do with that behaviour! He needs to own it, not blame medical problems.
