Has anyone got divorced because of DV with police involvement?

Yup, it's a mess. My husband has behaved appallingly and is still being a shit. Today my solicitor made her first contact with my husband's solicitor. I am still waiting for the police to get in contact re. making a statement. They are dragging their feet.

Yes OP, I am. Called police after 1 violent incident and years of emotional and financial abuse. He was arrested and released without charge. Police helpful at time but let me down on a couple of things both in run up to arrest and after, but had to just get on with it.

Got ex parte non-molestation order and later an occupation order to get him out. Had support from Refuge and good solicitor. Cost a lot (not eligible for legal aid due to property).

Still messy and ongoing issues with dc contact etc. Turns out he likes taking me to court too but we're slowly getting there. Will hopefully be a year in total for divorce and finances, probably more for contact stuff. He's nasty. So glad he's gone.

Am about to divorce my abusive husband. Called police after a week of sexual assaults. Released with no charges - massively let down by police after. It was like coercive control laws didn't even exist. Got an ex parte non-mol and occupation order and have been no contact since. Excellent help from womens aid and rsvp.

No CM being paid. Have got solicitor and ball is to start rolling next week. Ex has been very quiet and very compliant. Am terrified divorce notification with statement of unreasonable behaviour is going to be like red rag to a bull! I just want it all to be over...
