Mortgage company letter

Ex pays the mortgage in lieu of paying any maintenance for our 2 dc.

I came home today to a letter from the mortgage co saying he's discussed it with them and he wants to stop paying and that I need to get in touch with them so he can cancel his DD

I'm pissed off - it's the first I've heard of this, plus we are both on the mortgage so surely he can't call them to say he's not paying any more and that I must?

What can I do?

He can stop the DD - if he asks for it to be stopped then the company will cancel it as requested.

As you are both named on the mortgage then you are both responsible and if payments aren't made it'll be held against both of you.

Contact your mortgage company and inform them you are separated. Depending on the company depends on how they respond but whatever you do stay in contact.

They know we are separated

I'm a student so there's no way I can afford everything plus the mortgage. What happens if he stops paying but I can't pay?

Can you go to cms and get maintenance and then pay it?

MooseBeTimeForSnow · 02/05/2017 23:20

They'll repossess eventually if neither of you pay.
Has he told you he's stopping? Have you applied for maintenance from whatever the CSA is now?

Blushingm · 02/05/2017 23:25

I applied today

Nope he didn't tell me - 1st I heard was the letter from the mortgage company today.

He can actually afford to pay it - he's living with his parents, on good money with only bill to pay being his car insurance

Get onto the CMS tomorrow to claim maintenance.

Are you married?

Blushingm · 03/05/2017 14:58

I've just called and given them my details. They're going to get back to me

Yes we are married
