Hello everyone, I need some professional advice. I have started divorce proceedings to divorce my husband who's not defending it. I am on low income and I asked for help with the fees by the filling up the form on .gov.uk. I have told my ex that he won't have to pay anything as I thought I would exempt. However, he received the Acknowledgment of service and there was a question: Even if you do not intend to defend the case do you object to paying the cost of the proceedings? So if he NO to paying, does that mean they would turn my way and since I can prove that I am on low income, won't have to pay?

Thanks for your help.

No.

If the court has issued your petition without taking a fee, they've decided your are exempt, so no one has to pay.

Happy days.
