Hi everyone,
My delightful STBXH and I are trying to sort finances whilst we live in the house together prob until May now.
He earns £42k I earn £24 how do we work the finances? Can he contribute more than half? We have one DS aged 10. I'll struggle through half and he'll have plenty money left.
Thanks

How did you deal with it before you decided to separate?

How is this kind of thing decided? By you or is there an arbitrator who can do it fro you? Courts? I don;t know how it works.

Apparently it should be as your living before but I can't see that working for many couples - we've agreed half the mortgage and bills and I get £70 a week for Oscar but I'll have no money left at all.... he'll have £1000

How much would he have to give you through cms when it's finalised?

Will the mortgage be finished by the time your son is 18? I think he can then force you to sell. Have you looked in to that?
A friend of mine ended up in a shared flat/bedsit and her (by then)18 yr old moved in with his dad as he had a house. He made her sell.

The next bits fine I'm buying him out or keeping till Oz is 18 but it's the interim.....whilst divorce is going through....

Have you looked at what tax credits you will be entitled to now you are effectively single? If you let them know the situation - that you are divorcing but forced to both live in the house - they should be able to help.
