How did you tell people?

My husband and I have made a decision to divorce after only a year of being married.(long story) We have no children and have amicably split up our assets so that side of it has been easy so far.

I'm worried about how to tell my mother (we don't have an emotionally close relationship) and also our closest friends who were a big part of the wedding. I also don't know how to tell the wider circle of family and friends who I don't really see that much.

I feel like I will be judged.

How did you tell your friends an family?

My family are oversea. I used email. I would write a mail to non close family and see your parents face to face.

Told those closest to me on phone or in person. E mailed those who live long way away. Left anyone else to think what they want or tell when I couldn't face it

I went to visit my dad. My mum is dead. Told my sister on the phone because she lives OS. She phoned my brother. Text my best friend before turning up on her doorstep that day. Emailed other close friends. Told DS's primary sch teacher. Wrote to DD's secondary sch teacher. Jungle drums did the rest. Good luck!
