Have you come back from a dark place with ex?

It's turned really nasty wth us.. And we usually get on well. Civil and friendly anyway. No going on hols together or anything!!
Anyway wondered if people had positive stories to share about a dark time with ex and arrangements etc and then coming through it & being friendly again?

My ExH was convicted of drink driving with DD in the car and then he and his partner verbally abused DD. I stopped contact after DD told the child protection officer about the abuse ( she had not told me).
He would text and email me torrents of abuse, his partners wrote horrible letters accusing me of using my child as a weapon.
I worked inspite of this I worked to build DD's contact with ExH over a year. We are now cordial. He would like to be friendly, but as he broke my child into a thousand pieces which I put back together cordial is the best it will ever be.

Blimey..! Too right as well. Sounds awful.. Im in awe that you can even be cordial
