My stbxh submitted divorce paperwork last month which I responded to on 18th May.

What happens next?

Will I receive more paperwork to sign and return before the absolute?

Next is your Form E. (Everything about you financially) it's about 50 pages.

Mine was anyway, not meaning to scare you. The Absolute will be the very last thing to happen.

How long should that take to come through now? I worry that with him in control he will hold things up where possible

My divorce, from when papers were first served, through to decree nisi, financial disclosure and settlement and finally decree absolute took just over 2 years.

Is the financial disclosure part always required?

We already had consent order and finances sorted prior to starting proceedings.

You get the date for the nisi to be heard. Finances are usually organised between that and the absolute. We did ours ourselves so no form e but we then did a consent order after the divorce was final.
