Divorce papers came through - how long do i have to respond?

The papers came through to my parents house where I dont live and wont be going back there for a week or two and am wondering if I need to make a special journey one evening.

Im pretty sure you have about 8days to send back the acknowledgement of service before the petitioner can request a baliff serve the papers. After 21 days they can proceed without your consent. It does say the time frame on the letter you get sent with the petition.
