Hello, I am new to Mum's Net and urgently need some advice regarding contact with my teenage son. I am going through divorce proceedings (petition has been made to the court) on the grounds of unreasonable behaviour - controlling, manipulating, lying, abhorrent sexual requests - ? domestic violence. Resulted in the need for counselling / cognitive behavioural therapy / time off work / antidepressants etc. Of course, those on the outside were not aware of what went on behind closed doors. I thought that my DS would leave with me ..... but he has decided to stay with his controlling Father. My DS is still in FT education, and still needs parenting. I love him more than anything and just want to be able to continue to be his mother, but I could not continue to live with his father. My solicitor says that I have no rights because my DS is an adult (even with special educational needs). Please let me know if you have any help to offer.
