My friend has been married 25 years, separated following domestic violence for 19 years. Tiny house in joint names and 2 teenage daughters. She works part time. Can she do a diy divorce or will it be complicated given the joint property? Also she has no known address for him and hasn't seen or heard from him.in over a decade. I've told her to fill in the relevant forms and submit them.
He contributed 1000 towards the house purchase which she is happy to repay him. The solicitor has informed her it could cost thousands in court. Is this doable without incurring legal costs? She is happy to contact all last known addresses/ family/ bank etc to try find him and prove to the court she has tried to locate him.
