Very confused sbout the process and what I need to do

When I make my appointment to the solicitor to begin divorce do I need to take anything? Does the solicitor provide all the forms I need? Will I need to go again to sort out finances? How will I know when I need to do something, or if a stage hasn't yet been completed? Etc

Your solicitor will advise you on all of this. They tell you what you need to bring, they provide the forms and they update you on each stage. Finances will vary depending on your circumstances.

in my first appointment I didn't take anything. I did have some finances ready in my head like how much equity in house, how much owed on mortgage etc. I also had house valued before I went.
