He's stopped paying maintenance - can someone tell me how this is viewed if we go to court?

CSA caught up with him this week. He didn't want me to contact them, wanted me to accept his terms which were half what CSA had calculated he should pay. He was angry they said that they have contacted him. He has stopped maintenance. Our nisi comes through on Monday, mediation in mid July. If mediation proves unworkable and we go to court, how will this be treated?

Mediation for what?

They won't care about the money
What amount does he think he should pay and for how many children?

Mediation for the financial settlement. He insisted on it, and then it became law to try it before I filed for divorce. He wanted a settlement based entirely upon what he was prepared to do and threatened to withdraw all his offers if I went to CSA. But he wasn't paying enough maintenance (less than 7%). He earns a very big salary and I earn less than two thirds than him. He knows all my financial details as he used to have access to my bank a/c (when I trusted him - fool). Since the full financial implications of the divorce have begun to hit home, and I stick resolutely to communicating via sol, he's dragged his feet about getting to mediation but we do have a date now.

In between times I have started CSA claim. This has clearly angered him, so he has obviously decided to punish me for failing to obey him.

We have one DD. he thinks he should pay half what the CSA have calculated.

If he's a PAYE employee then, hopefully, it shouldn't take the CSA too long to get their act together and start getting money in. If he's self-employed or a company director then it may be much more complicated.

Can you survive without the maintenance for now?

He is PAYE, and all details are in the hands of the CSA. I'm going to ring them tomorrow and check if he's sent the papers back yet and how quickly they think they can start taking the money direct.

No without the little he was giving I can't survive for long and if he defaults on the mortgage too, which I am anticipating now, it's going to be a rough ride. I'm going to forewarn the lender about this possibility and ask them what they can do to help. We can't take a payment holiday because there's a dispute on the mortgage due to the divorce and if I get it taken off he will draw down extra funds from it, thus putting us both into even more debt. Bit stuck really, but oh so determined to battle on.
