Separating... help needed on what to tell the children

As the title says really.... please can someone direct me to any info on what to tell our three children that we are separating, they are quite young, 8 and under. Many thanks x

With my dd who is 4, I just tried to tell her the facts in as simple terms as I could. Daddy and mummy aren't friends any more so Daddy isn't going to live with us any more. But we both still love her and she will still see Daddy regularly. Ds was about 21 months so was too young to try and explain to.

If you look on the Cafcass website I think there is some stuff on there about helping children through.

Be as honest as possible. Reinforce that you and OH will always love them no matter what. Stress that they are in no way to blame for the situation. Answer their questions with age appropriate answers. Lots of hugs and kisses.

Thank you for your advice, separation on hold whilst he seeks help for his mood swings, we'll see what happens after that. Good to have these tips ready in case though....
