I am looking for recommendations for a continuous glucose monitor.
Been type 2 for years but trying to sort out my health now!
Any suggestions please 🙏🏻

Have you spoken to your consultant or GP? When I asked at a regular diabetes check up the consultant gave me a repeat prescription for the FreeStyle Libre 2 Plus Sensor (Abbott Laboratories Ltd).

Crispynoodle · 01/10/2025 23:40

I also recommend the FreeStyle Libre 2 plus, I also have it prescribed for me. Prior to that I bought myself one and it makes all the difference

I’ve used both the Libre2 and the Dexcom G7/6. Id recommend both although I had a lot of issues with the Libre losing connection constantly.

Out of the two I’d probably go with Dexcom, I find they feel more secure and not like it’s going to fall off after 2/3 days, no connection issues.

dexcom g6 the others we have used have been seriously unreliable.

Thank you everyone, appreciate your replies. I will speak to my consultant @stealthsquirrelnutkin just thought it would be quicker to buy one but they aren’t super cheap are they! I have ignored being diabetic for so long I figured this might be the thing that makes me sort myself out

Love my dexcom g6 - accurate and helps me stay in range.

Dexcom is cheaper than libre if self funding.
