Diabetes, steroids and semaglutide

My mother has T2 Diabetes and is in her late seventies. For the last few months, she's been on steroids to manage a condition involving chronic pain.

The steroids work, but her appetite has increased and she's put on quite a bit of weight around her stomach.

She's always been someone with a huge appetite for life who throws herself into things (to a much greater degree than me, tbh). I don't want to spoil eating and drinking for her since that obviously gives her pleasure, but I am worried about the effect on her health.

Is it worth suggesting that she speaks to her GP about semaglutide? Does anyone have experience of it being used in a similar situation?

Tbh, she'll probably tell me to get lost/stop worrying etc. anyway, but I feel I should do something.

If she's on steroids her sugars will be higher than her norm. I would suggest speaking to the GP for at least a hba1c or even better a glucometer as her meds may need increasing

Thanks v much, @Purplerain1144

I'm pretty sure she has had a blood test in the last couple of months, but I'll check with her to be sure.
