Experience of Dapagliflozin

Recently diagnosed as Type 2 and prescribed the above.

Warned about thrush and UTIs. Anyone had any experience taking it? Did it help? Any troubling side effects?

Was it a positive experience?

Many thanks to anyone who can offer an insight!

I've been taking it for about 2 years although for a heart condition rather than diabetes. No issues at all (other than my hba1c lowering as a result)

I started it a few years ago and almost immediately developed horrendous thrush which lasted for 9 months, even though I came off the drug as soon as it started.

DH, on the other hand, has been on it for years with no ill effects, though presumably it's less risky for men.

@UtterlyUnimaginativeUsername thank you for your honesty. I have had two bouts of thrush already this year from strong antibiotics and as you know it’s an absolute pain to get rid of!

It’s really putting me off starting the tablets. I appreciate your feedback x

@PuffingPuffin that’s good to hear. I’m so pleased you’ve had a positive experience 😊

I really need to give them a go but the other issues are putting me off!

@Winky1973 did you take the Dapagliflozin? I’ve just posted a new thread asking about side effects as already fed up
