Also high cholesterol.

I'm going to need to sort things out aren't I.

Can I sit here and have a bit of a cry.

@Crikeyalmighty I'm on beta blocker and just been diagnosed with prediabetes. Can I still reverse prediabetes while being on beta blocker?

Can I ask what is your lever now and are you still on beta blocker?

Crikeyalmighty · 27/08/2024 10:58

@Nets888 yep I reversed it to 39 all whilst on beta blockers. I still take beta blockers but a very low dose of 1.25mg every other day - I take them rather than blood pressure tablets which didn't agree with me as helps keep my blood pressure down slightly - but it was only slightly raised 138/88 average. I reversed it by eating less carbs ( around 100 a day max) drinking way more water and cutting out any cakes and biscuits or pastries.

My husband was diagnosed as type 2 with a score of 103, most recent score was 39 and that's through diet alone. He took Metformin for about 3 months initially, but is now 2 years on and no longer takes anything (with GPs support)

@Crikeyalmighty thanks, this gives me hope. I'm on bisopolol 1.25mg daily. Is this what you are taking?

Crikeyalmighty · 27/08/2024 11:16

@Nets888 yes, except I take it every other day- used to take it every day for a year- I was taking it every day when I reversed the pre diabetes though

It's strange this post has popped back up today.

I have done nothing about it since last February. I initially did very well and lost a stone and a half, but that has gradually been creeping back on.

I went to the GP this morning and she has arranged a retest to see where we are. Hopefully it won't have gone up and I can have another go at tackling it.
