Are you sending your children back to school?

I know there are posts on the other boards about returning to school, but interested to know what parents here think if you have diabetes yourself? Will you send your child back to school? I know people with diabetes aren't considered extremely vulnerable but given the recent research on death rates and diabetes, I'm feeling like we maybe should be. And in those circumstances I'm not sure if I feel happy about sending my kids back.

There's been lots of information out since those headlines looking at the raw data. Majority were over 65/70 and had existing comorbidities.

Majority yes, that's true for all deaths, older and more risk factors is a problem, but the risk for a type 1 is still four times a normal risk. If you are under 40 and female, that's still extremely small. If you are 55 year old Male, that's getting quite nasty.

The other factor to take into account is that younger children seem to be very poor transmitters ( very recent paper possibly lancet) so if you avoid parents and teachers the child/you will have low chance of catching the virus
