i had a recent full blood screen and my test came back at 8.5 so i have been recalled for a fasting test. this test was taken at 9.30 am and all i had had that day so far was a coffee with one sweetener at 7.30 am. any one know if thats a normal reading for those times and drink?
back ground is had GD in last preg, suspected in at least my 1st one and prob the other 2 tbh, my dad is also diabetic, not sure which type but think its 2 (no contact)
am booked in for next week but rather impatient. i am also peeing more at night, drinking loads more and thirsty often, quite a lot of headaches and very tired and lethargic, all other bloods apart from vit d which is low, are fine
thanks

I was diagnosed nearly six years ago with a very similar back story. However my HbA1c was much higher. Hopefully you've caught it earlier.
If it is diabetes I'd like to give you a take of hope. I've managed to reduce my blood numbers hugely, my eye damage has almost completely reversed and I rarely get any symptoms .... unless I have that 2nd slice of toast. But then I dance or walk/jog it off and quickly feel much better. Good luck with the test x

I ended up in hospital last year with a pancreatitis, when they checked my sugar levels i tested a 24!

Im now type 2, i take metformin twice a day and i have 1 insulin injection a week, my sugar levels are in a really good place at the moment but i do get to odd day when they go over 8 but thats a diet issue
