Gaining weight now that I've reduced Metformin

I've been on Metformin for 18 months for PCOS & steadily been loosing weight through this & caning the gym. But in October my GP suggested that I cut down from 3 tablets to 2 a day because I was just constantly nauseous & being sick every other day!

I have 2 questions:

  1. Has anyone suddenly started reacting to Metformin after having 0 problems with it for over a year?
  2. I've gained 6 lbs in less than a month & the only difference is reducing my dose! Has anyone else found this?

Just looking for advice really because I feel bloody gross atm & really don't want all my hard work at the gym to be for nothing! For info I go to the gym 5-6 times a week & my diet is decent so not really much more I can do on that front..

Thank!

It can be common to start feeling nauseous, you could always try and step up agin but take 2 at breakfast and one at tea to see if that makes a difference

Low carb. That’s what I did and I haven’t been back on metformin in 3 years - weights stayed off.
