Mine is 8.6% or 70 in new terms.

At clinic yesterday I felt like they thought it was AWFUL. I know it should be 7.something so I'm not TOO far off!

I have 5 children and a full time job so it's quite hard to get perfect control in, though my aim is to have it under 8% next time

Did they offer you any suggestions to get it lower - e.g prescribing you a Freestyle Libre, or changes to your dosing?

The target is generally 6.5% or below now, but only a fraction of people achieve this.

An HBA1C of 8.6% does mean your average BG is over 11 mmol, so there's room for manoeuvre hopefully, but it's not really fair to make you feel bad without offering constructive advice.

48 and they don’t like it. Apparently they worry under 50 means you are having loads of hypos even though from my libre they can see I’m not!!

Butterfly44 · 13/11/2018 20:37

@Breadfoam
How can they not like it? It's the official target!!

Goldensunnydays81 · 18/11/2018 14:37

Mine is 69 which is better than the 115 it was in January having just come out of intensive care!! My target for now is 55-59! I had been misdiagnosed as type 2 for the last 7 years although I was on humlin which obviously wasn’t working for me!
I’m currently doing our hospitals version of a dafne course and it is great! Have also realised that I just have to be more organised with food and not guess my carbs 😳😳!

Fantail · 24/11/2018 18:58

Last one was 32. But I’m LADA and still honeymooning. But I eat low carb/healthy fat. Very supportive medical team around me and eating this way.

I kind of treat myself like a little experiment. At the beginning I used to record everything (including moods, stresses, sleep), now I only go back to this when I get out of kilter (my condition will obviously keep changing until I no longer produce any insulin).

46 and everyone is unhappy

Pregnant T1 with hba1c of 43, only achieved by self funding a Dexcom G4....I am starting to lose my hypo awareness. ☹️

icclemunchy · 16/03/2019 22:48

8.1 Last time. Down from 12.2 just over a year ago 😳

They want it lower but refuse to accept the impact my other conditions have and just parrot that my ratios must be wrong (despite libre saying they're good!) so I'm finding my own way. Been diabetic 12yrs and never had issues until my other conditions started.

But then my consultant doesn't believe anything except "sugar" has an impact on bg levels 🤷‍♀️🙄
