32 weeks pregnant & diabetes scare WWYD

Hello ladies,
I really hope you girls can give me some advise on how to proceed here.
I am currently 32+2 weeks pregnant with my first. Today I went to my midwife and she tested my urine. She said the glucose sugar level is too high and I need to book a blood test with my local hospital. She said most likely they will give you an appointment next week and by the time we see each other again, the results should be in.
The hospital, however, scheduled the blood test for gestational diabetes in 2 weeks time (18.09.). By the time the results are back, I will be 35 weeks pregnant.
On top of this, she says my son's heart rate (169) is rather quick- but that's how boys are. Freaking me out!
I am not overweight. My BMI before pregnancy was rather on the 'underweight' side with 18. There is no diabetes history in my family. I did gain 15kg already. Could that be the reason ?

Would you wait for the appointment in 2 weeks or book a private blood test?

I'd go private.

It does seem like a long time to wait. As someone who has recently been diagnosed as having gestational diabetes at 28wks I would go private rather than have to wait a potential 3 weeks.
