What to ask at Post Diagnosis Appointment

My Mum has been diagnosed with Alzheimer's and is on medication.

I have got a Post Diagnosis appointment to go to (without Mum) and I was wondering if there were any important questions I should ask.

I am thinking what the progression is likely to be? where do I get help? Are there follow up appointments?

Has anyone got any ideas of other questions I should ask? I feel this is a one-off opportunity and don't want to miss anything!

Thank you

Progression is a difficult one as everyone is different and there is no easy answer to this.
Definitely ask about post-diagnostic support, both for your Mum and for you.

Thank you. Re progression - they did a CT scan on Mum but I don't know what it showed. I know they can't tell me anything for certain, but maybe they can tell me a rough timeline based on her age, test questions and CT scan?

To be brutally honest, I am hoping that something else will come along first and she won't get too much progression. Which is an awful thing to think about your own Mum 😞

Not awful at all. In fact I think it's perfectly natural. My DM has recently been diagnosed and I think that would be the best outcome too Flowers
